MGSE Article Takes a Humorous Look at Americans:
"Retail Therapy — The Common Cure for Feeling Good"

Santa Monica, California — MGSE, announced the release of its latest article titled, "USA Lifestyles: Retail Therapy—The Common Cure for Feeling Good." MGSE, an international marketing firm, works with companies in the US, UK and Europe who desire to introduce their products and services to the US market.

Monette Gomez, co-partner at MGSE, says she wrote the article from the perspective of having lived in Europe and the UK. "UK manufacturers and international trade organizations always ask about American’s shopping behavior. I thought it would be fun to write the article from first-hand experience." Ms. Gomez brings a sense of humor to the article saying, "Let’s face it, I’m a woman who loves to shop. In many ways, America is really one huge shopping mall."

The article focuses on the "leisure shopper" which is one of the most profitable consumer segments. Ms. Gomez says that retailers, catalogs, sales, and even store run playrooms for children have made it easier for women to shop and have a kid-free day in the process.

Ms. Gomez points out that there are no limits for retail therapy and women know how to find great deals. As leisure time shopping increases, so do sales. According to a Forrester Research study of 137 retailers, "estimated retail sales (excluding travel) in 2005 will amount to $109.6 billion." Ms. Gomez humorously concludes, "Somewhere in that number is my personal contribution!"

The article is available for free at the MGSE web site.
